For my last post of the month of February will end in a somewhat exciting one. There was about 6 inches of snow that accumulated throughout the night. There was a wintry mix on and off during the night, and most of the snow was done by the time it was sunrise. There was a very light flurry throughout the day, but nothing that accumulated on the ground. The snow is very wet and heavy, and most of the snow has turned into a very miserable slush. Some places on campus had puddles of over a foot deep. The high got up to around 37 today and there was a moderate wind coming out of the north ( between 5 and 10 mph). The low pressure system that just moved through is now over Michigan. If you look at the surface map below you can see the wind circulating towards this low pressure system. There is a high pressure system that will be moving into Wisconsin over the next day or two from Nebraska.
