Weather Links

AccuWeather is a great site to check out local weather. It has a very accurate and easy to read 3 day forecast when you type in your area code. If you click on the link below you can check out the weather for Eau Claire:
The site also has a great interactive map in which you can zoom in and out of a map of the USA. When you zoom into the state of Wisconsin you can get a good view of Eau Claire. There isn't however a zoom in of the Eau Claire area in general, but it is still a very valuable map which you can see by clicking on the link below:

2)Unisys: http://weather.unisys.com

Unisys is another great weather website. This site has some more technical maps for the more weather savvy. One of the maps that is very beneficial is the Upper Air Data map. This maps shows the air pressures and the directions for the United States. You can also click on the regions tab to zoom in on specific regions of the United States to get a better more detailed map. You can see the map zoomed in on the Midwest on the link below:
Unisys also has many other good maps along with the Upper Air Data map. One map that is very beneficial is the infrared satellite map. It shows the United States in a grey color with the cloud cover on the map. This is a very good map to see cloud cover and different systems moving throughout the United States. If you click the link below it is zoomed in on the Midwest to get a good view of Eau Claire:

3)University of Michigan Weather: http://cirrus.sprl.umich.edu/wxnet/

The University of Michigan is a very excellent weather site. It has a lot of links to other weather sites and links to other items you might not find easily on a weather site (ski conditions, weather cams, and weather software links). Another good link on this site is the radar and satellite link. It shows the entire United States along with icons to zoom in on specific areas. While there is not one located in Eau Claire, there is one in La Crosse that include Eau Claire in its radar. If you wish to look at this radar you can click on the link below:
This site also has a very good application in which you can look up a states forecast in major cities. When you click on the weather link on the main site you can click on a state. Once you click on a state it comes up with a list of cities forecasts. It also gives weather alerts with links, so it is quick and easy to see if there is any severe weather in a city you may be heading to. 5)The Weather Channel: http://www.weather.com/

This is one of the most popular weather site for people to use. It is really nice to in that it is easy to read and you can save locations so you can find local weather faster. It also has a lot of interactive and interesting maps. Since The Weather Channel is also a TV station they have a lot of videos and clips to make the site more interactive than some sites. If you click on the link below it will take you to the local weather in Eau Claire:
The Weather Channel also has a lot of interesting maps that you can use for national forecasting as well. 6)WeatherBug: http://weather.weatherbug.com/

Weather Bug is another good site that I like. It is very similar to The Weather Channel in that it is very easy to read. If you type in your zip code it gives you a very clear and easy to read weather. This includes highs and lows and everything a weather beginner would need to know for the day. You can also get a Weatherbug application on your telephone that messages your weather alerts. I have a link below that you can click to get mobile weather on your phone:
WeatherBug also has a very nice map called weather camera. If you click onto this map you can go to different cities and look at current weather cameras. Unfortunately there is no weather camera in Eau Claire on WeatherBug, but there is cameras in places you may travel, including Minneapolis, Wausau, and Green Bay.I have the link below so you can check out some of these cameras:

It also has a very cool application where you can look at winter driving conditions. It shows majors roads you may be traveling on and says if they are: ice covered, snow covered, or clear. I have a link below so you can check out the map:

WEAU also has weather cameras unlike WeatherBug for Eau Claire. You can click on the camera link and look at a live streaming camera of Eau Claire. The first camera is on top of RCU at Phoenix Park facing the southwest. You can even see some parts of the UWEC campus on this webcam. The other camera is at the weather station and is facing directly up into the sky. This is a good way to see cloud cover. I have the link below for you to view the webcams:
