Daily Weather Photo

------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 10th
There is no better way to end pictures of weather conditions than Lambeau Field during the winter. This is a picture of a field goal try in the winter time with the Packers trying to block. I go to Lambeau at least once a year so I am use to seeing scenerios like this. It doesn't snow as much in the winter because the air can't g hold as much moisture, but it sure does snow a lot in Packer Country

May 9th
This is a picture of a tornado that passed through my hometown in 2004. It wasn't close to my house, it went on the north side of Kaukauna on the other side of the Fox River. It did however create a lot of damage and even destroyed my friends pool and roof because it passed through his backyard
------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 8th
This is a picture I found from Rock Island that is in Door County. I go up to Door County, specifically Rock Island, at least once a year with my family. So this is a very special spot for me. I have never been up there during the winter so I though this was a very cool picture by the docks to get into the island.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 7th
This is an aerial of the tornado damage picture I took by my cabin. My cabin is about 30 minutes north of the tornado track but you can clearly see where the tornado cut through the land. It mainly went through Nicolet National Forest so most damage was to timber.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next couple of days I will have some general photos that I like, not one's that were taken in Eau Claire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 4th
This is the last picture I will be taking, the following week I will be adding photos that I like from the internet. This is a picture I took at night right before I left to go home for the weekend. This was at sunset and you can see there is no cloud cover this night, so it got very cold out for the night time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 3rd
This is a picture I took from the campus during the day on the way to campus. There is some very light cloud cover, and the cover you see right now actually only stayed around for another hour tops then it was extremely nice our the rest of the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

May 1st
This is a picture I took from my house around sunset. You can see some light cumulus cloud cover with the sun shining through lightly. It was a little bit of a cold day out today but, in general it was a pretty good day out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 30th
This is a picture I took facing the northeast in Eau Claire. You can see some light cirrus cloud cover throughout the sky. It was another extremely beautiful day in Eau Claire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 27th
This is a picture I took from a wooded area in Eau Claire during the afternoon. It was taken facing the south but it was mainly straight up. You can see some cumulus cloud cover through the tree cover and it was an amazing day out in Eau Claire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 25th
This is a picture I took facing the norther from my house. It was another overcast day and there was mainly stratus clouds in the sky with some precipitation. There was actually some strong showers this day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 22nd
This is a picture taken almost directly straight up but was facing towards the west slightly. There is cumulus congestus and cumulus humulus cloud cover right now. It did end up clearing up later on during the day, but it was overall an amazing day in Eau Claire.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 21st
This is a picture that was taken facing the east in Eau Claire. It was a very overcast day and there was some light rain throughout the day. There is mainly status clouds right now and it stayed this for most of the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 19th
This is a photo of tornado damage in northern Wisconsin. This is very close to my cabin and went through multiple counties. You can actually see this damage from a satellite, look for the picture in future days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 17th
This is not a picture I took myself but I thought it would be a good one to add. The Plains saw the biggest Tornado outbreak in recorded weather history. The Texas panhandle even got a lot of precipitation, in the form of massive amounts of hail. If you can believe it, the large rock looking objects to the left of the man are actually huge piles of hail!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 16th
This is another picture I took from my bedroom window. It looked like it was going to rain all day. There was some periodic points of rain, but nothing to much until the night time. The temperatures were very cool again tonight.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 15th
This is a picture I took from my bedroom window. You can see it is an extremely clear day out, but the temperatures did not get up very high today. There was a pretty strong wind as well which didn't help with the temperatures. There is a frost warning out for the night as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 13th
This is a picture I took from my 2nd floor entrance. It is a mainly clear day out. You can see some very light variable clouds in the sky, but they didn't last for very long. It has been a very beautiful day out during the day, with it getting very cool at night, which the clear skies helped with.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some photos of University of Wisconsin Eau Claire micro-climate maps. Each circle is a point taken in our class and the graduated symbols show comparisons between varying points. There are four maps which include: dew point, wind speed, temperature, and temperature with heating vents.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some micro-climate maps that I made of The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire campus. These four maps below include temperature, dew point, wind speed, and temperature including heating vents. The vents show how micro-climate maps can have small heat islands, which shows an anomaly within the micro-climate map of UWEC. You can also see a graduated background showing the scale of the points as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 9th
This is a picture I took from the room at my house facing the north. You can see there is mainly cumulus congestus cloud cover, with some humulus mixed in with it as well. There was a very strong west wind at about 25 mph, and actually getting up to 30 mph at some points. There expect the cold weather and wind to stay until Wednesday, then it should warm up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 6th
This is a picture I took from my kitchen facing the south. You can see there are cumulus humulus clouds for the most part today. There was a light wind coming from the southeast so the cloud cover has been moving into the Eau Claire area. Expect more cloud cover in the days to come.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 5th
This is a picture I took from the house facing north. As you can see there is very little cloud cover today like the past few days. There has been a high pressure system sitting over Wisconsin most of the week so the cloud cover is very minimal with some variable clouds every once in a while.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 3rd
This is a picture I took at night time on one of the colder nights that we have had in Wisconsin in a while. It is hard to see the stars out but the sky was very clear tonight. There was some light wind today from the southwest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 1st
This is a picture I took from my room facing the west. You can see that there is very little cloud cover. There was some moderate cloud cover earlier in the day but didn't last very long. There was a light wind from the west that didn't get much higher than 5 mph

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a video of the storm that came through Eau Claire. It is the first thunderstorm that came through the area for this year. You can see one very large strike and the thunder afterwards. The thunder comes a long time after the strike so you can tell by this that the lightning strike was rather far away.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 28
This is a picture facing the north. This was taken just before it started to rain. There is mainly altostratus clouds and there is a southeastern wind. This was prime conditions to get some rain. There wasn't a lot of precipitation but there was enough to warrant an umbrella.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 27
This is a picture facing the west. You can see that there is some very thick cloud cover with some breaks in the clouds. There are mainly cumulus congestus at the moment. There are some mixed skies but this is the predominant cloud in the sky. There was no lessening of the cloud cover throughout the day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 26
With the break over, this is the first of many more picture that I will be putting up now like before. This is a picture taken facing the west and you can see it is extremely overcast. There was light rainfall throughout that day and there is a chance of more rain tomorrow.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 14
This is a picture that I have taken from a parking lot straight above, but slightly to the west. You can note a very few cirrus unicus clouds in the sky, with a westerly wind. This cloud cover was very spotty and most of the cloud cover was gone by mid-day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 12
This is a picture I took from my house facing the west. It was mainly cloudy today with altostratus clouds with a westerly wind. There was not a lot of cloud break and it rained for a good portion of the day, removing any last remnants of snow on the ground.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 10
This is a picture I took form the Water Street bridge facing the north. Most of the snow is gone, except for some small variable areas that you can note in this picture. There was very light cloud cover, and it was very clear for most of the day
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 8
This is a picture that I took facing the north. It was mostly cloudy today with a light southwest wind. Most of the clouds were altostratus and the temperature has been raising most of the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 6
This a picture that I took at sunset after a very mild day. The temperatures got up all the way to the upper 50's so it was extremely mild. A lot of the snow has melted and we should expect some rain later on during the following day. You can see some light cirrus cloud cover at the time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 2
This is a picture facing north on State Street. I took this picture around 2pm and the temperature is around 36 degrees out. Most of the snow you see is turning into an even more slushy mix, making this snow very heavy with water. Green Bay is actually expected to get 6 plus inches of snow again today.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 1
This is a picture I took facing the north. This is a picture taken around early morning. The cloud cover was very thick so we didn't get a lot of sunlight for the day. The temperatures however got high again melting more of the snow into a slushy mix.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 29
This is a picture I took facing down Park Avenue near campus. The night before there was a lot of snow fall and most of it turned into slush. You can see from this picture most of the snow is pure slush. There was even puddles of water upwards to a foot deep on some of the sidewalks. Miserable weather all around.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 28
This is a picture of the snow fall that we got throughout the night when it first started snowing. The snow fall accumulated to about 6 inches of snow. There was a wintry mix throughout the night as well so most of this snow was slush once it was morning

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 27
This is a picture I took from my 2nd floor entrance facing the west. You can see it is mainly clear around sunset, with some variable clouds earlier in the day. There is a low pressure system that will be moving in tomorrow that will bring a lot of precipitation so it will start to get more cloudy tomorrow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 26
This is a picture facint the north from my house. Today was mostly cloudy and there was a pretty strong wind coming out of the west. It looks like it is going to clear up tomorrow though because a high pressure system is moving into Wisconsin which should clear up the skies a bit
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 25
This is a picture taken from the parking lot of Shopko. It is facing the west around sunset. The day was mostly clear with some light clouds. You can see from cloud cover moving in because tomorrow is looking to be cloudier than today was.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 24
This is a picture from my 2nd floor balcony entrance. It is facing the west and you can see there is still considerable cloud coverage from the previous day. There is a small chance of snow later during the day, which is coming from a cold front moving our way from Minnesota. Southern Wisconsin just got 6 inches of snow about 12 hours before this picture was taken, but unfortunately the snow missed us.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 23
This is a picture facing the north from State Street. You can see most of the sky is covered by thick cloud cover. There was a strong wind today as well, with a low pressure system moving east to our north. The conditions will stay fairly stable, with this cloud cover lasting most of the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 22
This is a picture from my back porch again the very next day from the previous picture of the snowfall. You can see that the conditions were extremely mild, so most of the snow you have seen in the previous picture has melted. The temperature actually got up into the 40's so most of the snow started melting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 21
Here is a picture from my back porch after one of the first snow falls Eau Claire got in a long time. There was only around 1 inch of snow but it was the first considerable snowfall in a very long time. It also was very mild when this snow came so it is a wet snow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 20
This is a picture I took facing the north around 4 pm. There is very high cloud coverage right now from a warm front moving into Wisconsin. There is a high likelihood of getting around 3 inches of snow later on tonight. There is also a strong wind right now coming from the southwest at about 20 mph

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 19
This is a picture I took from work. It is hard to see the cloud coverage but there is light stratus clouds right now. It was mainly cloudy for the day but there was also times of little cloud cover. The high got up into the 40's which is extremely warm for this time of year.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 18
I took this picture around 8 pm from my house. It is facing the north right after sunset. The clouds were fairly thick which you can probably see in the picture. The picture looks more light from the light posts, but there was little light from the moon from the cloud cover.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 17
This is a picture I took outside the Holiday gas station on Water Street. It is facing west around 6 pm so this is a good picture of a sunset which I haven't had on here yet. It has been partially cloudy for most of the day, with some very light snow a couple times during the day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 16
This is a picture taken facing the east on the Water Street bridge. It has been mainly cloudy for most of the day and there has been a steady wind. There is a small chance for some small precipitation, but for most of the day it is only mainly overcast.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 15
This is a picture facing the south toward the Hibbard parking lot. You can see from the picture it has been mainly cloudy for most of the day. It has been fairly windy all day today too. The cloud cover has been clearing up throughout the day though

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 14
This is a picture of the woods behind our house after the snow fall from last night. This has been the largest accumulation of snow for a while in Wisconsin. By the looks of the forecast though this snow is not going to be around for very long

------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 13
This is a picture I took out of my window once it started snowing out today. This picture is facing the north and the wind was coming from the west. The total snow fall was around 2 inches or so. I took this picture around 3 pm when it started to snow, and it was still snowing lightly into the night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 12
This is a picture I took around 4 pm today. It was facing slightly northeast but this picture was taken almost straight up. It was an extremely clear day out today so the temperature were pretty low again. I thought that a picture of a contrail would be a good picture to add. The contrail is made because of water vapor in the air condensing behind the airplane.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 11
This is a picture I took from my kitchen window around 3:00 pm. It was a mostly cloudy day and the sun was peeking through in prolonged periods. This was facing the southeast and the winds were coming from the northwest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 10
This was a picture I took when I was walking to work on Water street. The picture is facing the west at around 2:00 pm. Today was a very cold day, barely breaking the 20 degree mark. The lows got all the way down into the single digits. You can also see the sky is very clear which helped make the high temperature for the day very low.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 9
I took this picture on my way to my 8 am class this morning. I didn't have a good picture of a sunrise yet so I thought it would be a good picture to take. This picture is facing the east and you can see the sky is mainly clear. The temperature was around 15 degrees and it was starting to warm up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 8
This is a picture I took on the way to class facing north on Summit Avenue. It was a mostly sunny day, with some very light thin cloud coverage. The high got to around 24 today and the low will be in the low to mid teens. The clear skies help to lower the temperatures a bit at night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 7
This is a picture I took on campus facing Zorn Arena, facing north/northwest. You can see that there is a pretty clear sky, with some light stratus clouds in the sky. The high only got up to around the mid 20's today. It did get mostly sunny out though which helped raise the temperature a bit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 6
I took these two pictures at dusk on the roof of my house. The top picture is one facing east towards the moon. It is one day before a full moon so it is really bright in the sky. The bottom picture is facing the west towards the sunset. You can tell by both pictures that the sky is very clear and it was for most of the day. The high got up to around 40 again as it has most of the week and the low will get into the lower 20's tonight.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 5
This is a picture taken from State Street facing the northeast. I took this picture around 4:00 pm after work. It got up to the upper to mid 30's again today and it was only partially cloudy for most of the day. When I took this picture it was starting to get cloudy again. The low for today will get around the mid 20's.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 4
This is a picture I took from the Water St. bridge around 1:30pm. It is facing to the southwest towards campus (you can see Hass in the background). You can also see the Chippewa River in the background and that it is a very clear day out. The high was around 40 degrees as well so it was a very nice day out as you can see from the picture.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 3
This is a picture I took at Park Ridge distribution plant on the south side of Eau Claire. It was taken facing the northwest around 2:30 pm after I got out of work. As you can see the skies have cleared up a little from the past few days, but it is still partially cloudy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 2
This is a picture I took from the Hibbard parking lot around 3pm today. It is facing the southwest and you can see Hibbard in the right side of this picture. Today's conditions were very similar to yesterdays. Most of the day was dominated by heaving clouds. The temperature got up to around 40 degrees again as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 1
This is a picture I took today around 2 pm right outside of Davies Center on the UWEC campus. This is a picture facing the west, and you can tell that there is a very thick cloud cover. It did not get much brighter than this the entire day because the cloud cover was that thick. The winds were not very strong either which made the cloud cover stay most of the day. There is a slight chance of flurries later on when this picture was taken.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 31
This is a picture of the sky facing east on Summit Street near campus at UWEC. This picture was taken around 4pm. It was cloudier in the day but a low pressure system moved in and the sky cleared up quite a bit. With the clouds gone it warmed up a lot today, getting all the way up to 42 degrees.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 30
This is a picture of the sky taken from State Street facing the northwest. You can see that there is a partially cloudy forecast. The sky is a little more clear compared to the following day. The winds are coming from the Southeast and there is a chance of some freezing rain later in the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 29
This was a photo taken outside of Racey's Coffee Shop on Water Street in Eau Claire. This is a photo facing the west, close to the Chippewa River. You can see a slight overcast present, and there was overcast conditions most of the day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 27
This was a photo taken from my bedroom window at roughly 3:00 PM. This is a picture facing the northwest as a light snow storm was moving in. The snow started around 3:00 PM and ended around 6:00 PM giving Eau Claire roughly 2 inches of snow. The forecast for the night will give another ~1/2 inch of snow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 26
This is a picture I took from my 2nd floor entrance to my fraternity house. It was at 11:30 am and it snowed the previous night before this picture was taken. You can see a light overcast coming from the west. The winds were light (~5 mph)
