February 21

Today we actually had some winter weather for the first time in a long time. Eau Claire got just over one inch of snow accumulation. A little further to the south in Wisconsin this actually came in the form of rain. The snow we got is also very wet, since the temperatures are still very mild. We should expect to be getting some more snow later in the week, since the low pressure system just north of Lake Superior will be effecting the Eau Claire area until it moves out. The winds were also fairly strong today getting above 10 mph. The high was in the upper 30's and tonight will get down into the lower 20's. Here is a map of the system that moved though, and you can note the low pressure system sitting north of Lake Superior:
